Wow…

My food, service and ambiance was amazing! I ordered the mussels to start and duck breast for my main course. Both was perfect cooked. I will recommend this restaurant.

Husband chose this place for my birthday dinner while we were in Dublin. After a couple of flight delays where we had to move our reservations, we ended up arriving earlier than we rescheduled for but they were able to accommodate us on a weekday. Small restaurant with an upscale feel but I didn’t feel under-dressed with my winter gear on. We started at the bar and they found a table for us before we got our food.
The elderberry Collins- OMG. Soooo good. if nothing else, get this drink. I’m not much of a drinker so for me to finish a drink is unheard of lol.
I had the halibut 5:5 and husband had the duck-4/5 I think he would have like it 5:5 if the skin was left on. We also had the scallops and celeriac for appetizers. They were so sweet and brought out a birthday treat as well.

A fabulous stop for a special occasion dinner. We came here at the end of a few days in Dublin for a special occasion dinner. The wait staff was wonderfully accommodating of some allergies in our party and was really helpful picking out dishes that all of us could enjoy. The atmosphere was lively but not loud, a place you can go with older guests that still want to hear table conversation at a quiet volume. The pate was a standout as well as the carrot cake dessert, which was in sort of a deconstructed format and the Eaton mess which was refine version. Really though, you could pick just about anything on that menu and enjoy it. A lovely place for a special night out!

Really felt like home dining at Pichet this past fall. We made a last minute dinner reservation after passing by on a walking tour. Staff was very welcoming and greeted us immediately. The manager even stepped out to have a chat and check on us during our meal. Very quaint yet cozy dining room. The food was filling yet the portions were small enough that you could order multiple things off the menu. We took the waiter’s recommendation and ordered the steak and orzo. Ireland has some of the best beef. Can never go wrong with a steak.

A bit of a let down if I’m honest. I planned our trip to Dublin for our 27th Anniversary for months. Reservation and excitement building for months for Pichet. When we showed up, our table was one in the middle of the dining room surrounded by other tables and definitely not special.

We showed up 15 minutes early so parked at the bar and ordered a few cocktails from the bar. I didn’t want to be late since the instructions were clear. The bar was fine. Once we were escorted to our table I was so disappointed to be sat at a table in the middle of the dining room. I made our reservation early and added that it was our 27th anniversary so hoped for a decent table and a little extra love but no.

Good was good. To be fair the beef short rib appetizer and venison main were really tasty so the food didn’t let the place down. Service was adequate. I didn’t feel a need to order anything more so dessert wasn’t on the agenda.

So for me, yeah, food was good but not worth a second visit based on my overall experience. I appreciate it for what it is but it is nothing more special than the many places I’ve visited in Dublin. We’re headed to Pickle tomorrow and hope
That makes up
Some of our letdown at Pichet. Not sure how it had the Michelin distinction. Especially not worth a visit on a special occasion. We were left with two sad jellies on a plate. Hmmm.

Anna J.

I am always so skeptical of result nice places like this but I have to admit Pichet killed it. We had a reservation and they let us sit early which was honestly great because since it is kind of a coursed meal it took about 2 hours which was fine because we were happy to sit and chat.

I ordered a delicious glass of red wine and the bread service came. Delicious and simple. For our appetizer, we got the scallops and salmon. The salmon was great and Smokey and the scallops I loved the hint of chorizo and so tender!

For our main we all got different things but I got the fillet and this was just so tender. I was skeptical in portions but this meal was very filling. Everything you could tell was curated and the vibes of the restaurant and the staff just elevated that. We also shared the fried artichokes as a side which came with a great sauce.

Of course we had to finish dessert and we really came for the Eaton mess which was just perfect. I had an Irish coffee to accompany it and the meal was finished.

A worthy stop for an amazing culinary experience!

Delectable French bistro located near the heart of the city that’s just far enough away from the crowds that you feel like you get some peace and quiet.

Started with the Chablis that was refreshingly buttery and paired perfectly with all of the bites to come. Bread brought to the table reminded me of a milk bread challah and was exquisite. Appetizer was the hot smoked salmon with a fried hen egg – think NY lox meets avant garde michellin dining. For the main course the agnolotti and cauliflower were both ridiculously good. Definitely worthy of all the accolades they’ve received.

Portions were large and satiating. Only knock I’d have is you may wait a while for food, but that’s part of the experience at a bistro like this!

Had a fabulous meal here. Everything we ordered was outstanding…scallops, watermelon salad, cod and the pasta were delish! of note, the fish was hot and not overdone which is not something that happens often. service was friendly and efficient. very cute bistro like atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This was an incredible dining experience. Certainly Michelin worthy. We made a reservation online and were seated right away for dinner. They are very popular and reservation only so plan ahead. We tried the scallops for appetizer and I have to say they were the best scallops I have ever had. Beautiful plating and delicious sauces and garnishes. It was a very unique and refreshing way of preparing scallops. My husband doesn’t like seafood typically but we were fighting over this dish. For entree my husband got steak with a side of cauliflower and I got the halibut. Everything was delicious. Service was perfect. We had drinks and water instantly replenished and plates cleared promptly. It was a very memorable dinner experience for our ten year anniversary, thank you!

Amazing dining experience at Pichet!

Just had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant. Food was delicious and staff were extremely friendly. Of course, the side dish provided as a compliment of the chef was a cherry on top! Thank you, wonderful Pichet team!

Set in the heart of the city, Pichet leans heavily into its Michelin Bib Gourmand rating. Although physically in Dublin, everything about the place screams French bistro: the decor and ambience, the limited but tasteful cocktail menu and of course the menu offerings. One might easily find Pichet in Lyon or St. Étienne.

And for the most part, it is a very well thought out menu. There is a variety of first course options, including several haute cuisine, old school dishes (e.g. beef tartare or roasted scallops). Some equally traditional mains appear (Barbary duck, roasted hake, lamb loin). They even offer a posset for dessert, something I have not seen in a restaurant of any quality for a long time.

And in general, the food is very good. The ingredients are clearly well-sourced and the meals attractively plated. The serving sizes are just about right–not too minimal and not too much. Generally speaking, they do red meats slightly better than fish and fowl, but all are estimably edible.

The wine list, while not huge, is also well-balanced, and they offer about 20 reds and whites by the glass. It leans heavily to France and Italy (as might be expected), but a variety of European, American and African vintages appear as well (Australasia is missing apart from one Marlborough). I was particularly heartened to see Napa Valley’s Grgich Hills on the list.

The only real negative came in the spacing between courses. It may be coincidence, but there seems to be a tendency in Irish eateries to serve appetizers fairly quickly, followed by a considerable lag time until the main course is served. In the case of our meal, it was over 45 minutes–long enough for me to inquire about the wait.

That hiccough apart, our party was quite pleased with all our meals. It is perhaps slightly ironic that Pichet probably caters to visitors–indeed, it is in the heart of Dublin’s most touristy center. In spite of that, the owners have not chosen to phone it in and have offered a genuine bistro experience at fairly reasonable prices.

Was looking for an incredible dining experience while in Dublin for my birthday. Pichet came highly recommended by a few people on reddit. I was super excited to dine at my first ever Michelin star restaurant, and the experience did not let me down. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful. The staff is all friendly and super attentive. And the food was incredible. Both the scallops and the duck were perfection. If you’re looking for a high-end, unforgettable dining experience in Dublin, look no further!

I’m not sure how this place is Michelin recommended. The interior is nothing special and the food was subpar for a place that is supposed to be upscale and good. Service was fine until we said we didn’t want dessert and then were asked if we were sure multiple times. Yes, just the check so we can leave.

Went to this restaurant friendly at first very welcoming. One drink each and olives for starter but a family emergency came unsuspected and we had to leave staff became very rushy and tried to make us pay for food that wasn’t even cooked yet. We had made them aware we had to leave for emergency but still tried to make us pay for wat we hadn’t ate . Very unprofessional won’t be goin back.

Service – 5 stars
Ambiance – 5 stars
Food – 3 stars

Saw this on Michelin guide and thought it was a fantastic value. The beautiful decor and elements of the seating and wall decorations in three unique rooms were stunning. The attentive staff with different utensils and constant filling up of water was good. The starters were excellent – mussels being our favorite. Then when the entree came it was disappointing for us. The venson shoulder and duck breast for the main was complicated in flavors and texture. Not impressed but a very good value. The sides cauliflower and peppers were mixed in extra flavors that didn’t make much sense to us. Perhaps we should have diversified our dishes and chose a fish or something else. Bread was delicious Btw we asked them for additional and they were kind enough to have given us a few more slices.

Had to pivot my dinner plans due to an unexpected change in another restaurant’s hours – luckily had researched this place and popped in as a quick swap. It seems that they use their front room for walk-ins versus the back main dining area is for reservations, etc. Overall everything was good – lamb dish was probably the highlight

Our dinner tonight was absolutely outstanding at Pichet! From the attentive, but not intrusive service, to the wine recommendation and our delicious meal, everything was delicious and simply divine. My husband had the halibut and I had the Iberian pork. Both were seasoned to perfection and didn’t need any extra help. The roasted cauliflower was a wonderful accompaniment. This has been the best dinner we’ve had in Dublin during the past week (we’ve dined at several Michelin starred places) and we hope to dine at Pichet again before we leave next week.

It was my best meal in Dublin. Started off with a few appetizers and they were pretty good. They had a special with mushrooms on top of some type of bread and it was excellent. Had roasted cauliflower with nuts on it as a side and I thought it was prepared excellent. I had gnocchi which was very good. Pillowy and a little crispy on the outside. Definitely recommend. Wife had some lamb which was ridiculous.

Service was very good.

Ambience was a little loud due to a table nearby. It is not a very big place.

Best meal and experience in Ireland. Outstanding service, quality, and flavor. The chef was on point with Tomohawk steak, and drinks were cold and constant. The quality is what all restaurants should strive for. Amazing restaurant and management!

I had a lamb dish with warm goat, cheese, and asparagus. The lamb was cooked to perfection was still pink inside. It was so tender! It was cut into four pieces and each pieces actually had a slightly different texture. The goat cheese was incredible with this dish. It was basically melted. The bread was light and bouncy. Yum! Ambiance is dim lit and perfect for date night. I was able to walk in on a Thursday and snag the last table available, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. My server was sweet and friendly and even the bartenders checked in to ask how my experience was. I wish I had room in my belly to try starters and dessert. Next time! Definitely worth if the Michelin bib.

Great resturaunt! Lovely staff that was friendly and helpful. Nestled on a delightful corner in Dublin.

Food was exceptional across the board. Almonds to start had an awesome smokey seasoning. White pudding app was incredible – you could cut the sausage like butter and the egg was perfectly crispy. Salmon main course was great. But i would say the highlights were the seabream special and the mushroom risotto. Both were exceptional

Don’t miss out on the best fine dining and service in Dublin!

My dining experience at Pichet was one for the books! I was in Dublin for New Year’s 2023 and had a reservation for earlier in the evening. The meal, friendly and professional service was top notch. The menu selections were well appointed to meet the needs of any dietary restrictions without skimping on the flavor and plating that you would expect in a 5 star dining experience. The wine list was well appointed and a pleasing match for any menu item.
The dining and management team were incredible and made my experience so memorable we came back at midnight to ring in the New Year at the bar. Marco, the restaurant manager and Harry Quinn (Executive Chef) were both professional and humble. My best friend and I thoroughly appreciated the personal service provided by them both despite being busy.
In addition, we loved Pichet so much we came back our last night in Dublin to enjoy the dining experience again! Pichet is a MUST GO to when in Dublin. Must try menu items: Risotto of Hen of the Woods Mushroom Risotto, Slow Cooked Short Rib with Pasta Starter (still drooling), Filet of Grass Fed Beef (this restaurant knows their way around quality beef selection and preparation), Charred Tender stem Broccolini with Ceasar dressing (a sophisticated and modern version of ceasar salad)…no menu item will disappoint! Thank you again to Chef Harry Quinn, Marco and the entire Pichet team for making my Dublin dining experience one of the best in my culinary adventures! I will be back soon!

I’ve been to Ireland about 5 times now and every time I visit this restaurant is always my first choice. I’ve been to many restaurants in Ireland and this is by far my favorite. The service is absolutely phenomenal, shout out to Dominic for always taking care of us.

One thing I love about this restaurant is, they’re always switching up the specials. We’ve had many things from monkfish, tomahawk steak, venison, pork shoulder and many more. The chef is always great at every meal, and they get fresh cuts of meat or seafood in all the time. Nothing is ever frozen and prepared fresh daily.

Pichet it’s a little bit more on the pricey side, but it’s worth every penny, or if you’re going to celebrate. I do recommend at least getting an appetizer or two, a main dish, side, and dessert. Lastly, you will have to make a reservation a couple weeks in advance because they do book up. This restaurant will not disappoint you, I’ve added pictures from our visits on multiple occasions

My friend and I had a great time at Pichet. I must admit I was a bit skeptical while looking at their posted menu, because I am not only vegetarian but also gluten intolerant. Usually this means that my options are very limited, but after talking with the maitre d we were assured that accommodations could be made.

Ante was our waiter that day, and he was wonderful with his recommendations and service. Our drinks were amazing as well and came very quickly after we ordered.

As a gluten intolerant vegetarian I was able to have:
-Gordal olives marinated in orange
-Mushroom risotto
-Butternut squash soup with gluten free bread
-Cauliflower with miso butter (phenomenal, highly recommend)
-Berry sorbet

I feel Pichet was the pinnacle of fine dining in Dublin.

From the first moment we stepped in, I had a good feeling. The decor and vibe of the place almost made it seem like we weren’t in Dublin anymore. It wasn’t super gaudy but it still had this perfect balance of royalty and homeyness.

When we ate dinner this night I’m pretty sure we walked to the restaurant so I’m not sure of the parking situation. I don’t think theres street parking since its in a part of the Temple Bar area thats really just meant to walk to. I definitely would check for the nearest parking garage.

As for our meal, we started off with some cocktails. I got the Rum Punch to start and I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t a super burst of fruit like I am used to. I tasted the rum but also got those pineapple and passionfruit flavors on the end. It also had more frothiness to it than the cocktail normally has due to the egg white which was fun. That’s why I love sours after all.

For food they had a Tomahawk Steak special for 2. Now let me first say, if you see this as a special and you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend you do. This was easily one of my favorite meals on my Ireland trip. The steak was amazing just on it’s own but the the 3 sauces it came with was icing on the cake. My favorite one was the peppercorn sauce. It was so rich, and peppery but it also was a little thick like a gravy. It’s something that you don’t really see on a menu from where I live in California. Most you would have is an Au Jus with some horseradish sauce for a Prime Rib. Most other steaks you eat alone unless it comes with wine reduction of some sort. So it was extremely fun to try something new and fall in love with it. Literally everything we had was good. I hate corn and I actually liked the corn soup. Like…how is this possible man?

Oh. We also did order wine with our meal but I couldn’t remember if I tried. It was that good…What we did was just have our server recommended one and that’s what I would recommend for you too. The people working here aren’t just a friendly face. They are very knowledgeable on food so if you run into any crossroads definitely pick their brain. But man that peppercorn sauce…No other sauce came close to the one I had at Pichet. I want to try and perfect this at home now…

We were lucky to walk past Pichet and get an available table. The fish special was amazing. The wine was great. The dessert was *chef’s kiss*

I would give this place 6 stars. Our server Andree? Was awesome. Service spectacular. Started out with the olives, which were amazing. Wife had the fish and I had the Lamb Chops. Wife said it was the best fish we had on our 10 day trip. My Lamb was perfectly cooked. The roasted cauliflower was the BEST we have ever had in our life. They could make a completely new restaurant that only served that and it would be a hit. Roasted with some light sauce and hazelnuts!! It was insane. Never had anything close to that good. Had a Bordeaux and it was decanted and had great Reidel glasses.Prices were reasonable for an older Bordeaux. They even had Ridge Zinfandel there (our favorite). Did I mention the service was awesome.

Great to go to a real Michelin star restaurant and it exceeded our expectations. The service was just simply awesome. You could tell he loved his job and the people he was serving. We did not feel rushed at all. This restaurant was easily on of the finest restaurants in all of Dublin. We walked by near lunch and when I walked in the manager was there, he was so nice and took our reservations. I hear it is hard to get into too. Could not have been better. We will be back.

I’m so thankful for recommendations from those that serve the hospitality industry. This place has the ambiance, good food, and perfect service (you’ll never have to ask for anything).

Reservations are a must as the location is a little intimate. If you’re a large group you should 100% call ahead of time.

My husband got the foie gras terrine and I got the mussels (not pictured). It was spectacular.

Got very lucky with a walk in here. 2020 michelin star restaurant in the city center. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Open kitchen concept near the dining area.

The short rib starter was absolutely amazing. Wish we just ordered multiple dishes of this for our main meal! Comes with these creamy pasta shells.

A la Lamb dish came with an interesting compressed layered potato, artichoke, and some other ingredients that I probably can’t pronounce.

The sides were amazing. Triple fried potato cakes and the best broccoli I’ve ever had.

Don’t forget dessert, the key lime pie blew our minds.

Book a reservation here when you’re in Dublin!

Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The hake had the crispiest skin and it’s a dish I’ll be thinking about for a long time. The staff and vibe of the restaurant is top notch. Book a table and enjoy a perfect meal – I know I did!

Dublin is a very international city and so there is no shortage of food. I had walked by Pichet multiple times before deciding to dine-in as I was in search for dinner. There are days where I just simply cannot decide on what to eat, and every restaurant I had walked by advertised their pre-fix options. I was hungry and tired of walking, and best part was that my hotel was only a ten minute away, and so Pichet it was.

I was greeted by a friendly host as I entered the restaurant and was asked if I have a reservation. I asked if I was able to dine-in, and was seated shortly after confirming with the manager that a table was available. The manager was gracious by allowing me to dine-in with a one hour and thirty minute window, which was more than enough time for me to grab a quick dinner.

I loved the clean, modern, warm, and elegant interior. A friendly waiter assisted with taking my order and I decided on their two course pre-fix special.

1) Salad of golden beets, figs and burratta; this was absolutely delicious and all of the ingredients paired so well each other. Honestly I would have been happy with two more dishes of the same salad and call it a night.

2) Short Rib; I loved the tender melt in your mouth beef short rib, horseradish croquette was something I have not had and enjoyed, and the sauce brimming with umami made the dish absolutely amazing.

3) Broccoli; this was technically a side on its own cooked in butter, garlic and topped with crushed almonds. I love broccoli and this was a perfect vegetable dish to accompany my meat dish.

I do not regret having my last meal in Dublin at Pichet and will definitely dine here again in the future.

Pichet was excellent from start to finish. As soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. Our server was fantastic. I don’ remember his name but I do remember he was from Croatia. A great personality which added to our experience. Food and drinks were fantastic. Definitely our favorite meal in Dublin!

Rebecca O.

Jason S.

This was honestly the best meal of our trip so far. Every single dish had rich, deep flavors. The short rib was sublime, meat as tender as can be with a bright green sauce beneath and some grilled onions to add some texture and balance. It’s a massive piece of short rib and will almost surely fill you up after a piece or two of bread and olive oil. The gnocchi was also just incredible, so fluffy with a savory sauce that wasn’t overbearing nor heavy. Thank you big gourmand!

Loved every second from the minute we walked in.
Ian greeted us and we didn’t have a reservation but it was early, around 5:40 pm, so they could take us right away.
Food was amazing. Very flavorful and beautiful presentation. I usually don’t get desert but the early bird special was a great deal! My husband enjoyed a glass of cigar old fashion as his dessert and we are still talking about. Go and enjoy. You won’t be disappointed.

This place deserves to be ranked a lot higher than some of the other Yelp reviewed places in the area. Great atmosphere and warm service. Phenomenonal food!
Had the monkfish and shortrib, both were cooked perfectly. What a nice surprise!

Yesterday, I went to a higher ranked restaurant on Yelp for dinner and thought, “well if this is the best this city has to offer then I don’t need to come back ever.”

Glad I stumbled across of this restaurant!

French restaurant hidden near Trinity College should be added to your next Ireland visit. Open kitchen layout and close seating makes this place so peaceful and upscale.

Immediate welcomes and greeting from staff upon entry when we walked in during our Hop on Hop off tour of Dublin. We felt underdressed at first but realized the environment was welcoming regardless. We had just missed the lunch special deal (3 courses for €28) so we went for traditional dishes.

We ordered the chef special, Lamb Cutlets which was cooked to a perfect medium and so tender and flavorful. We definitely ate them to the bone. We also ordered the pork belly with charred cabbage. I’ve never had a pork belly until Pichet and WOW. The meat was succulent and the fat from the belly just melts in your mouth like a sweet caramel. The cabbage was a great texture and compliment to the meal.

When we left, everyone gave a pleasant farewell and thanked us for dining in. That was so sweet because although we had one server, they all stopped to thank us when we left. Our bill was steep but well worth it’s money for the decadent and style of cooking.

This is the best restaurant we tried in Dublin. The food is inventive, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the ambiance is cheerful and sophisticated. The flavors were creative and subtle. For example, the special lamb appetizer delivered tender, tasty lamb cubes, delicately deep fried on a spicy remoulade accompanied by a harissa yogurt cucumber relish and cumin chickpeas. This combination in other hands could easily have been greasy and heavy. But no. A succulent surprise. Also, after five days of Guinness and craft beers, and second-thought wines, the well-curated wine list was a welcome sight and drinking delight.

Bernice R.

Such a good find for French food in the heart of Dublin. Loved the ambience and decor. The food was delicious and priced well. I took a star away though because the service was incredibly slow and we seemed to wait forever between dishes. Our dessert was even forgotten about until we reminded a neighboring server. Maybe they were just busy from a packed Saturday night? Who knows. But it kind of put a damper on an otherwise good dinner.

From the exquisite aesthetic to the unparalleled service, Pichet is a foodies’ delight. Our waiter was outstanding. He suggested wine pairings that were across a range of prices, which we appreciated. The food is done to perfection. Of particular note, each item from pasta to vegetables to bread was prepared to with care and attention. Pichet offers unique and innovative flavors in a welcoming and chic environment. I cannot wait to return for another world-class dining experience.

Amazing dinner at Pichet during our trip to Dublin! For a Michelin star restaurant it was worth every penny. The environment was romantic and comfortable and their service was great. We had a asparagus appetizer that I sadly can not remember the name of but it was wonderful. My halibut was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had! My husbands lamb was so tender and fresh you can tell they use quaility meat. Their cocktails sweet and refreshing! If I ever find myself lucky enough to back in Dublin I will be paying this place a visit again!

Pros
The gnocchi was superb.
Atmosphere was lovely.
Servers were all friendly.
Interesting specials.

Cons
The short ribs were way too dry and tasteless.
The wait for our starters and then our entrees…and then our check…and then payment…were each very long.
The kitchen seems unable to serve less than a full restaurant without a significant delay. Apparently this was due to two large groups… maybe an off night for the cooks?
Special that I wanted was sold out.

Overall
It was dinner. Wouldn’t go back.

Have eaten here a couple of times in the past six months once with my wife and friends, the other a work dinner. On both occasions I’ve found the food to be super: nicely presented, fresh & flavoursome. Their steaks are spot on beautifully tender beef as is their duck.

The wine list is comprehensive however on both occasions they didn’t have the wine in their list of first choice (maybe bad luck or just coincidence it happened to me on both occasions).

Staff are helpful and friendly.

One thing to note is it can get quite noisy in the restaurant when it’s full as the ceiling height is low!

Upon arriving to Dublin, we headed straight to Pichet for lunch as we knew it might be our only chance of getting a meal here at this Michelin starred restaurant. I ordered the Crowe’s Pork with Butternut Squash Barley Risotto. The pork was cooked perfectly, but the barley risotto stole the show. It wasn’t rich and heavy with cream and cheese like typical risottos, but flavorful and light. It tasted like the barley was cooked in a butternut squash stock or puree, it was SO DELICIOUS!

This restaurant has a nice ambience. My boyfriend and I came here on a busy Friday night.
At the bar, I had a nice mojito ginger cocktail. The starters were very good. We got the crab (delicious) and the Foie Gras. I would say those were the stand outs of our meal. For mains we ordered the Pork special and the Flat iron steak. They were very good, but just not as memorable as we would have liked. Also, they didnt have ketchup! Ah. Our favorite with fries. We had a pleasant evening all in all. Thank you.

My friend and I stumbled into Pichet for lunch before seeing a movie. We has passed the place earlier and thought it was adorable. We both got the two course lunch. I started with a soup, I believe it was a butternut squash soup with pesto. It was lovely. I think this was the highlight of the meal My friend had the beet salad which she also enjoyed.

For my main, I had the short rib which was pretty good. My friend got a fish dish which she enjoyed. I also ordered a drink which wasn’t very well balanced but good enough to drink.

The service was good. Our waiter was clearly overstretched but didn’t appear frazzled – kudos!

We really enjoyed this restaurant! We sat in the bar area -very cozy! The bartender is a true mixologist and we enjoyed several lovely drinks to include rhubarb flavors and balsamic vinegar (it was awesome!!!). I had the butternut squash soup – a must!! So much flavors with the added nuts and creme fresh. We enjoyed steak tar tar with grated pate, fresh salads and dessert! We tried the truffle fried – in a word -perfect!

Wow. Just wow. Don’t hesitate. Don’t walk. Run to this place. What a gem. The salmon is amazing… mussels and broccoli in an amazing broth. Dessert – get the yogurt with pistachios. Best dessert I’ve had in ages.

If you are foodie this place is for you. Great service, too!

Dublin is full of mediocre restaurants that for some reason can get away with very high prices. Pichet is probably the best example of this.

Four of us had dinner there recently and the food was at best acceptable, but actually would have been considered OK value at half the price. The chicken breast obviously had been warming for a while and the sides had a nasty processed feel to them.

Service was smug and rushed and when the bill came to €170 for two courses (for 4 ) I was taken aback. (for fairness, I have excluded the drinks element of the bill, but just so you know they know how to load that as well).

I’m not sure why this place and others like it get good reviews, but a clue could be that the weaker reviews here tend to be from people outside Ireland. Are we too easily pleased and too eager to admire the emperor’s new clothes?

Amazing. Simply amazing. We came here for my birthday dinner after seeing it on the Bib Gourmand list. Reservations are a must, as it fills up quickly. It’s a nice restaurant, but not overly formal, which is refreshing. The cocktail menu was superb – lots of creative cocktails and a decent wine list as well.

The food was delicious. We split the tuna sashimi appetizer which may have been the best bite of the night. Really good avocado and cilantro cream. The braised short rib was flavorful and tender. The wasabi cream was a great accompaniment, as was the grilled cabbage salad (great bacon in Ireland). I had the cod on a bed of grilled corn, almonds, and more of the avocado cream. It was perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin. We split the spring garlic colcannon, which tasted like it was 50% butter – delicious! For dessert, we had a pavlova with lemon curd and fresh cream and the night was complete. Really good and I highly recommend to anyone in the Temple Bar area!

Food is so-so, but the service was amazing. We came for pre-theatre menu, which was a cost effective deal for two choices among starter, main, and dessert. The waiter was kind and polite, ensuring that we don’t feel rushed. The cocktail was awesome, too!

My partner and I went to Pichet for dinner on a whim, and overall, this restaurant is very expensive and it didn’t really impressed me.

Apparently this is a hard table to get, but they are on OpenTable and I was able to call and get a table for later that night. Walking in, the vibe is pretty good, and it does have a feel of a Parisian bistro.

The wine list is rather small, and the cocktail menu is very uninspired. It’s just one sweet drink after another, and it was very odd that the first drink on their menu was a “porn star cocktail.” Why would something called that be your signature drink? Seems random and ill-fitting.

The food here is on the pricier side. Almost all their entrées are over €25. That’s kind of a pet peeve I have with restaurants where you have a super small menu that’s on a small piece paper yet everything is expensive. I’m here to try things out, and not invest in a restaurant concept that I’ve never been to before.

The food was fine, but nothing was very memorable here. The seabream was probably the best dish.

Service was spotty, and definitely did not fit the high prices here.

Overall, I have high expectations coming into here Pichet because I’d read such good things on the Internet about it, but it didn’t live up to them.

We are on our last day in Dublin and accidentally ran into this place when we became lost. We are so happy we did. We arrived here and was immediately greeted by the staff. We sat near the window to catch the view of people walking in the streets. The ambience makes it welcoming and also has a cool club feeling but not rowdy. The food was amazing. We ordered the 3 course meals and the food was more than enough for one person. We found that this place out of all the restaurants we have been to while visiting has the most flavorful food ever! The ingredients when reading on menu seem like they wouldn’t go together but don’t be mistaken, give it a try and you won’t regret it. The drinks are also amazing I had one of the best blood Mary’s here and also my new favorite drink is La passion, the name alone is sexy and made me want to try it. I had about 3 and could have had more if my flight wasn’t leaving at 3am, yolo! The service was amazing our server was kind and always made sure we were ok with our food and drinks. I can’t wait to come back to Dublin and bring my friends here. I don’t like posting pictures of the food because you need to see it for yourself. If you want great service, great prices and overall a great time COME HERE!

Passion Fruit Mix Drink (5 NOMs)
Get passionate about drinking from our new favorite French restaurant. We are in Ireland, after all, there should be lots more drinking than usual. We asked the waiter for something very sweet and so he recommended this beauty. Not sure I can even drink this piece of art. We finally broke down and tried a bit and then some more until we realized we are drinking the whole thing. very fruity and very sweet drink which is perfect for those of us with a sweet tooth.

Pea & Leek Risotto (5 NOMs)
You are about to have risotto like any you’ve ever tried before. This was a pure accident kind of a place, we had to stop here because we got totally soaked in yet another rain and needed a place to dry off, get a few drinks and some snacks. We are big fans of poached eggs and we just had to try it when we saw an appetizer with one. This was flavor mesmerizing with a combination of perfectly poached egg and soft risotto. The texture alone made this excellent dish. We enjoyed this as part of their 3-course meal for €25 ($26) which was totally a worth and amazing deal.

Pork Fillet (5 NOMs)
Just look at this dish, presentation alone would make you fall in love with it. Pork fillets were prepared and seasoned perfectly. Plus the brown sauce added a nice and pinch of strong flavor to excite your taste buds even more. Went great with roasted vegetables, lentils and bacon cream. This is the kind of dish you enjoy slowly and a little bit of everything in every bite to savor it all. Similar to appetizer this dish was a bit small, but yet delivered big on flavor and enjoyment. Not veery dish must be giant and food coma inducing. Leaves more space for dessert. We enjoyed this as part of their 3-course meal for €25 ($26) which was totally a worth and amazing deal.

Mascarpone Mousse (4 NOMs)
Complete your French-Italian lunch with a tasty from one of our favorite restaurants in Dublin. This French restaurant makes some great Italian dishes. Always great to see multiple different cuisines inspire and compliment each other. We just had to have some dessert especially after we had such a great appetizer, entree, and a drink. Ah, this Italian cream cheese dessert is so soft and light it will just melt in your mouth. As mascarpone is not as sweet which is balanced out by the caramel, chocolate ice cream, fruits, and few other sweetness goodies. Lots of tasty things came together in this one dessert. So make sure to enjoy little but of everything in one go. Plus comes with a layer of chocolate mousse on top. This is a little sweetness of joy.

Had a lovely long lunch with friends here. Service was great and they didn’t rush us – after lunch we sat over a martini espresso which was divine. One star taken away as food was good but not stunning.

Amazed to see how long it is since I last reviewed Pichet. Since then it has gone through a change in ownership and was closed for a while before reopening last year I believe. Oddly enough, very little has actually changed. The food is still excellent, the service is very good and the ambience just right. On a recent visit my companion and I both had steak – he likes it medium-well and I like it medium-rare – and both were served exactly as it said on the tin. I had had mussels to start which would have been good enough on their own as a main. A very pleasant Fleurie accompanied the discussion righting all the wrongs of the world which continued with a brace of Baileys afterwards. Really very, very good. I’ll be back.

Received this recommendation from “Where Chefs Eat” and it has by far been the meal I’ve had in Dublin. Enjoyed the three course menu of foie gras, seabeam, and Guiness mousse. Thank you Pichet for a lovely and enjoyable dinner in Dublin! Will be back again!

Amazing place for a brunch or a dinner. Portions are big and the atmosphere great.
Try the hen eggs with the black pudding, peas and tartare sauce !

I have only ever come here for my morning coffee but the coffee is so so good, the latte art is pretty fun too. It is really nice to sit in here in the mornings and read the paper as it is quite and gets really good sunlight and is a great people watching spot. The pastries are sinfully good too! A perfect breakfast treat and spot.

My boss took us here for Christmas dinner. It was exquisite. Everyone’s food was simply delicous. I can’t imagine you’d be disappointed with the cuisine. Not the cheapest night out, but certainly worth the money if you’re happy to splash out.

I came here with my boyfriend and parents when they visited and we chose this restaurant for a special occasion (my birthday :)), so you can say that we were hoping for an above average dining experience. Pichet definitely delivered! The interior is beautiful, I loved the blue chairs and the generally classy-yet-down-to-earth atmosphere. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and quick, the food was delicious, and the dessert looked like a piece of art. I will definitely return and would recommend Pichet for anyone wanting to treat themselves.

Expert service, extremely friendly staff.
The menu changes frequently, making it fun to go back.
Every dish I’ve had there has been very tasty and artfully plated. Their pulled pork beignets (more like croquettes) were excellent. The grilled lobster was simple, perfectly cooked and delicious. I highly recommend it.

I met a few friends a Pichet on Sunday for a pre-movie brunch. To start we ordered a few lattes and a pitcher of Bloody Marys. Both were served in pretty glasses and tasted quite nice. At first sip we thought they MUST have forgotten the vodka but part-way through glass two we were proven wrong!

After a while our mains came out and everything was beautifully presented. I had the rump steak with poached eggs and duck fat potatoes. The steak had a lovely rub on the outside and was perfectly pink on the inside. It was really delicious and went so well with the potatoes and egg. My friends had a variety of dishes from the fried chicken, to the green asparagus, and the poached eggs. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes but the friend chicken looked especially delicious.

We had ordered the brioche French toast to share at the end but by the time we got through our food, we were really full and as luck would have it, they forgot to bring it to our table any way. Pichet isn’t the speediest place for brunch but the food was excellent and they have several mains at the €10 – €12 mark. If you don’t mind spending a tiny bit more though I would highly recommend the rump steak. Will return!

We came here for late lunch on a Saturday, so availed of their set lunch menu (which, incidentally, is identical to their pre-theatre menu). At €20 for 2 courses, it’s a solid value.

Between us, we tried the pea soup with goat’s cheese and smoked haddock beignets to start. The soup was delicious – the goat’s cheese was a nice tangy creamy touch against the sweetness of the peas. The smoked haddock beignets were also fine. They were essentially potato and haddock cakes/croquettes… I’m not sure I got the “beignet” reference, as a beignet is more of a doughnut and there was nothing resembling that.

For our mains, we had the salmon with fennel risotto and the chicken pie. Both dishes were quite good, but I thought the salmon was a touch underdone in the centre as it was completely translucent. I would have sent it back, but I hate overcooked salmon and didn’t want to risk that in having them throw it back into the oven so just ate around it. The roasted fennel in the risotto was really nice, though.

The service could have been warmer and the place had a very touristy vibe when we were there. I liked my meal enough to try them again for dinner to see if they can blow me away next time.

We decided to try Pichet as part of Dine in Dublin. The service was a little strange to start off with. The menu was different to the one advertised which I was disappointed by as the desserts didn’t sound as appetising, the menu on the night was the same as their standard early bird. When I ordered, the waitress asked me which menu I was ordering from because the desserts are different, I looked down at them and replied “but they are the same?”, she replied “yes..”, I said “what?”, she said nothing.. Weird.

Anyway, I went for the artichoke soup, which was really amazing, pretty much all the stars are just for the soup. Followed by the chicken with black pudding, the pudding tasted underdone, the chicken was nice and tender but the dish was kind of dull and not filling enough for a main, you have to order a side with it. For dessert I went for yogurt parfait with rhubarb sorbet which was tart and refreshing.

My fellow diners also enjoyed their meals, although one ordered a glass of Rioja and left it because it was cheap/bad wine. There was also a group of lads in from the rugby who had had a bit to drink and had to get up from the table every five seconds, the restaurant is not well laid out for this constant traffic and the backs of our seats were bumped fairly often, the group was also pretty noisy, with singing and shouting, I don’t think it was really appropriate and the staff could have asked them to keep it down.

Overall not the best value for money but good standard of food, service is hit and miss and the atmosphere on the night wasn’t for me.

Been threatening to check out Pichet for many moons now and so glad I did.

It was Saturday evening and we had no booking. That didn’t matter to the staff however and even though they only had 2 tables left (which we guessed were already booked for later) they smiled, pretended it wasn’t an issue and led us to our table.

That wasn’t the best thing about the place though, it was the food. It was pretty much perfection. Everything was faultless and melt in the mouth. Items that wouldn’t normally excite for mains (chicken and salmon) had us raving about them. I loved it.

Portions were not huge however. This mistakenly led us into blind panic and we ate the full contents of our (very large) bread basket before the mains came out. Don’t do the same as us though, there is absolutely no need. And as my Mammy would say…you’ll ruin your dinner.

“Sometimes trip advisor gets it wrong”
Anyone complaining about food here must be out if there mind. Food was Michelin star standard. Staff efficient snd Nick was there and while not a beaming light he runs an excellent establishment. We will be back. Well done.

If there was 3 and a half star I would give that but feel like my dinner did not warrant a 4 star.

I started with the crispy hens egg which was my favourite part of my meal. Served with broccoli and almonds it is a winner. My main I could not say the same about- chicken and butternut squash risotto. Plain breast of chicken and a risotto that lacked flavour this was very disappointing. It also looked really unappetising. Thankfully the dessert ended the meal on a better note. I chose the snickers dessert; peanut butter mousse, honeycomb pieces and chocolate sorbet.

The staff in pichet could not have been nicer. Attentive without being pushy. There’s a buzzy atmosphere and the decor is sophisticated so would be a good place for a special occasion. Really want to like the restaurant but feel like they need to improve their food. Good but no wow factor.

Sean E.

Fantastic food and service that was second to none. I did have a few small quibbles… One issue was with the lighting (way too bright) and music (non-existent) which ruined any hope of a cool/relaxed ambiance that I’d usually attribute to a chic French bistro…

Food wise: I had the crispy hen egg for starter which was delicious, paired with the montepulciano d’abruzzio. Followed up with the Duck which was a little bland and was pretty small in comparison to the steaks my dining partners had. Sadly this meant I was left sitting idle waiting for the rest of the gang to finish their steaks. Not ideal.

Dessert was amazing – “snickers” of peanut butter parfait and chocolate sorbet. I can’t recommend this enough. Also bottle of wine #2 had arrived by now.

I’d recommend it and really hope that “3 stars” isn’t viewed as harsh – it just wasn’t the absolute best food I’ve ever had in Dublin but it was still pretty awesome.

I have been to Pichet a couple of times before and enjoyed it both times. My friends were wondering where to go for a friends 50th birthday and I suggested Pichet. Some of them had never been so it was agreed.
We were seated near to the entrance to the main dining room. Oddly enough this is where I was seated the previous time I dined there. I wasnt mad about the table at first as you could feel the breeze from outside every time someone left or entered the restaurant. However it calmed down after a time and it wasnt a bother in the end.
We ordered some Prosecco to start and our waitress was quick to bring this. She looked after us well the whole evening bringing bread and extra glassware etc.
we all enjoyed our food a lot. I had lobster with gnocchi and chorizo in a broth- tasty- and loin of lamb for my mains-again excellent. I tasted a bit of everyone’s and the steak one of my pals was eating was gorgeous. I don’t often order steak when I’m out but I would be tempted by this dish.
I had a Manhattan to finish with an espresso- both were super. The desserts looked lovely and the espresso martini that someone ordered was very good. Overall it was a lovely experience. It’s expensive to eat in Pichet, so I feel it more of an occasion restaurant. We paid just under €500 for three bottles of wine, six starters, six mains, two cocktails, three desserts and four coffees. I enjoyed it do much I sent two different friends who were celebrating a birthday and am anniversary there the following week.

Hoooooley moley, the food in this restaurant is amazing.

It was my first time ever trying Gnocchi and sacre bleu it was sensationale, I just feel like all other gnocchis are going to be a disappointment in comparison now though..

The staff here are so attentive, the food is amazing and the general ambience is great for a big group dinner!

Allow me to recommend the gnocchi with the ratatouille, and the petit fours for dessert -*Mwah* sublime.

I missed this review in my reviews of Ireland. This is a cool little shop right in the heart of Dublin. We actually saw a show about it on the morning TV. That is why I wanted to try it. Since we were staying right here in town we thought that we would. We had seen them putting the whole thing together on the show. The owner seemed highly strung, maybe because, that makes better TV.
But, we found it pretty ,calm, and relaxing.
It seemed nice in here and it was very clean. I got a nice cuppa hot Tea, my daughter a drink. The bread they brought out before the main meal was wonderful. It had nuts in it even. The staff was good. Very quick, yet not rushed.
I had a lovely soup, Split Pea, it was delicious.
I really liked my Lamb, and I was a bit scared to get it as my last Lamb dish at the Bleeding horse was horrible! But, this one was cooked properly, and was delish as well. Gravy was really nice.
My only thing was it seemed very high priced. Which I guess is the way it is in this area.
It is worth a visit, I would go back any time.

Everything was delicious!! Everyone loved their food; the pork, the chicken, and the lamb (?). My chicken was full of flavor, wonderful portions and cooked perfectly! The wine was good we got a red and a white as well as several glasses of prosecco. Dessert was also phenomenal we got the cheesecake, the chocolate cake, and the strawberries. It was very pricey but probably worth it since the food was so good. I was not sold on the ambiance, but the staff were friendly and checked on us often but not to often.

The most amazing dinning experience, for one, in Dublin I’ve ever had. I walked in without a reservation and they were very accommodating. I was sat at the bar by a lovely waitress that knew the menu well and was able to recommend the perfect entree for me. She also recommended a beautiful wine to compliment my meal. The pleasant gentlemen behind the bar and host made my dinning experience one to stand above the rest, setting a new standard for Dublin restaurants. The monk fish, curried mussels, roasted cauliflower, grilled courgettes, mint was absolutely delectable. See the photo. Overall the best dinning experience in Dublin I have had alone. Looking forward to the next time.

Pichet is friggin’ dull.

I mean that in a culinary sense, my dinner buddies where rock stars but by Christ was the food just dull.

For me Pichet represents the old ‘take your boss/mistress to dinner’ set….fat old men in bad shirts, expensive watches, big cars and no clue what exciting food might actually be.

Dublin is exploding right now with amazing places to eat, simple but utterly astonishing fooderies….Pichet is still stuck circa 1987.

Portions at Pichet are miserable, pricing is at the higher end and while taste, flavour and execution are all ok….that’s all they are….just ok.

For clarity I had steak tartar to start which should have had me on the edge of my seat ‘forking’ anyone who fancied sharing…..nope, raw burger meat is my best description. Duck followed. My pals all had steak, looked great, tasted great…..get it anywhere….maybe better.

If you go to Pichet bring vibrant friends and don’t go for the food experience, there isn’t one.

Steve K.

Great cocktails, super table, nice service, fab food, reasonable charge, nice company helps so we will be back ! You gotta book early. Soup was worth every drop, smoked salmon starter went down well followed by beautiful cod but my poulis is definitely worth recommending. Nice after dinner dessert drink always make sense here in Pichet.

The food was excellent but ruined by lousy service.

We came with a small group to meet friends who were home from the US for Christmas. We’d heard good things about this place and had high expectations.

I really want to write about the great food and throbbing atmosphere but the only thing on my mind the day after is the incredibly pushy waitress who relentlessly pushed cocktails and bottles of wine on us.

Now I am not sure if she was only following orders but it seems that this young lady was obviously told to sell drinks and sell particular drinks at that, I have only ever experienced this in the US and to be honest they are much better at that over there.

I really have to criticise the management of this establishment for (a) adopting this hard sell approach to service and (b) for selecting a young immature waitress who exuded way to much cockiness.

Pro: Scallop Appetizer, Pork Cheek Entree

Hands down. Favorite meal of the trip.

Cute unassuming corner bistro located downtown, the decor is clean, modern, and spacious. With fantastic service, we had a small army of servers checking in regularly. The owner was also there and went around to most of the tables to check on everyone.

Here are some of the favorite dishes:

Scallop appetizers with Mushroom Vinaigrette, Potato Mousseline, Garlic Butter, Crispy Pancetta – Worthy of ocean royalty, the appetizer contains three scallops perched on top of scallop shells with a gentle foam froth, reminding one of ocean waves. The mushrooms paired wonderfully with the caramelized scallop and helped bring out even richer notes. The throne of creamy potatoes added a wonderful mouthfeel, crowned by the crispy pancetta.

You would expect that to be the pinnacle of the meal, until you come to the pork entree…

With Pork Cheek, Crispy Belly, Morteau Sausage, Sauerkraut, Turnip, Pork Jus, this dish looks adorable. The pieces come separated and the crispy pork belly is topped with a salted oatmeal topping. Fork tender, absurdly flavorful, holy-he77-this-is-amazing cheek that makes bacon look like baloney, complimented by crispy belly.

Whew! Let me take another breath just thinking about it.

Definitely a 4-5 star rating, probably depending on your night. The menu was simple, but we enjoyed everything. The salmon for starters was delicious, they even made the cucumbers nice, and I hate cucumbers. Then I had the venison for the main course, and it was done to a real medium rare, not the sort of medium rare that doesn’t have a hint of red in it. We clearly went on a better day than Emily though because the waiters were actually exceptional, especially given how packed the place was for a Monday night.

The only downside to the evening was that they actually didn’t have two of the 5-6 mains on their menu and had to offer something else. Guinea Fowl instead of chicken and some white fish instead of the Stonebass. This wasn’t really a problem, but given that we were there at 7, it seemed a little early to have run out of half the menu.

The cheesecake was actually exceptional, and I am quite fussy about cheesecakes, and the pear sorbet was probably one of the best sorbets I have ever had.

First timer at Pichet – I always believe there is room for improvement for all restaurants, but these guys don’t have much room to improve. Loved the food and service – decor was simple and inviting. I definitely want to come back and try other selections.

There doesn’t seem to be much new to write about Pichet – most previous reviewers seem to have hit the nail on the head with it, but throw my hat in the ring I shall!

Decided to avail of the Early Bird menu yesterday to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and we had a truly lovely evening.

You can get two courses for €22, or three for €27, so if you want to experience the quality of this restaurant without the usual price tag, get in there early!

I had the pea and fennel soup to start which was creamy and flavoursome, then the lamb and mash with tomato and and capers for main – the lamb was succulent and not too fatty, literally melted in my mouth, and the cookies and cream for desert – vanilla icecream with macaroon-like cookies surrounding a delicate vanilla mousse.

The food was truly spectacular.

I would give this place a 4.5 stars if I could, however as I can’t, and I’m not comfortable with awarding a 5 star rating, I shall go with 4. The main reason for this would be the service which wasn’t quite on point. Despite being very lovely, the staff were a little distant and not as warm as you would like. Also, we never received any bread on the table, and the coffee came out after the desert instead of with it as requested. Minor details, but details all the same!

Almost last minute decision to go out for my birthday dinner……my wonderful daughter recommended Pichet and booked the ‘early bird’. I was not disappointed ……in fact, was due to go there about 2 yrs ago but it was temporarily closed for redecoration and didn’t have the opportunity to go there since! Although the early bird had limited choice, basically three starters, three mains and three desserts, they were all very exciting and inviting! Two of us had the pea and fennel soup served with feta cheese which was creamy, velvety and absolutely delicious, the other member of our group had cod fishcakes, superbly presented. We had two shoulder of lamb dishes and salmon risotto for mains – I am not doing them any justice at all by not describing them exactly as on the menu but suffice to say we were all well pleased and the different flavours coming through, and presentation were top notch! We chose a bottle of Cote du Rhone which was an excellent vintage at an even more excellent price at €26.50! The desserts were so delicious, I’m salivating at the thought of them…..chocolate cookie and cream and a lemon concoction served with tiny little meringues and what looked like fresh freeze dried raspberries!
Highly recommend this restaurant, very convenient parking in Trinity Street Car Park literally around the corner – I’m already looking forward to going back. I would only deduct a point for the hurried service – I felt it was too quick between courses and didn’t allow the diner time to relax – perhaps it was due to the fact that they wanted the ‘early birders’ finished as quickly as possible to free up tables, however, there were still quite a few vacant tables when we were departing.

Probably the best place we found in Dublin. Unfortunately, we stumbled upon this place with only 2 days left in our trip but we ate her twice. That should indicate how much we liked it.

The cafe is bright and open and the breakfast menu is simple. You order at the counter, pay and then your food shows up. My first time, fried eggs and toast. These were probably the most delicious eggs I’ve had in a long time. The toast was focaccia and it was served with a small ramekin of a deliciously sweet tomato sauce. I wish I had more of it because I couldn’t stop eating it. Along with my double espresso, this breakfast was nearly perfect.

My second time back, a mushroom and cheese omelette. The omelette was perfectly cooked and for the rest of the dish, see the previous paragraph.

This place is a true gem and I want one in the US.

This must be the best chef in town. The terrine and starters are top class…

The room is not very well set, so less charm that it could have. I would chose it for lunch and not dinner then.
Good produce and professional.

Had a lovely lunch here on Sat last. Genuine welcome, attentive friendly staff, and all in all the food was great. Courses were nicely timed also meaning we didn’t suffer from that dining phenomenon of still chewing your starter while your main course appears. We ate from the a la carte which adds up to an expensive lunch- yet we did not feel overcharged and it was value for the quality of the food and cooking. The set menus looked like a steal! One small niggle, table layout along the side wall was a bit haphazard meaning one table had loads of room and two others were very squished ( wished staff had seen same and reorganised as we could barely slip in and out of our seats!) Nonetheless this is only a small downside and I look forward to coming back……Oh and desserts were fabulous!!

Fish pie, bolognese or chicken leg? Those are the mains on the lunch menu. It doesn’t change for the early bird evening set menu. Not exactly mouth watering options.

The a la carte is so much more fun. Tip: treat yourself, go a la carte.

If you do, the duck breast and the roast cod dishes will not disappoint. Did I miss the memo about crispy chicken with fish becoming the new surf and turf? I’m a fan of both, so no complaints from me. The rhubarb dessert with soft meringues really is excellent.

When the yolk of the crispy hen’s egg starter had hard-boiled fringes, my frown could not be turned upside down.

The staff were excellent throughout (nailing a fouth star that the boring set menu and hard egg yolk had jeopardised).

FWIW – NM was bare wristed (but I wouldn’t put him past a watch-like gesture) – www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2013/0221/1224330312053.html

One of the best meals we’ve ever had. I had the lamb and my husband had the ribeye. The steak was better than most NYC steakhouses. Great service – definitely try it!

The forth/fifth day in Dublin, Pichet was a great find. We tried to go on a Saturday night, but could not get in (reservations highly advised for weekends). So, we returned on Sunday (again, with no reservation – on holiday!), and were able to sit right away. It was worth the return!

Food was great, had the gnocchi and steak, followed by a nice, cherry cake for dessert. They even made two great martinis to start off the meal.

Both nights were made by the very friendly and amenable maître d’, Katryna, who gave us recommendations for the night they could not take us, and made us feel welcome and at home on Sunday.

Thanks!

I love this place. After having waited months to try it we finally made it here. I was not disappointed at all.

The starter of suckling pig croquette was just superb and delicate. The Clare organic salmon main was the best salmon I have had in a restaurant in a long time. It was full of delicate flavours and cooked to perfection.

The dessert of Chocolate mousse cannelloni with banana and salted caramel ice cream was probably the best dessert I have had in Dublin with all my favorite ingredients in one plate. I licked my plate clean…uncouth I know, but I didn’t care ;-))

Coffee was great and the wine list was small but excellent. There were a number of reasonably priced wines on the menu.

The service was prompt but not rushed. The waitress was friendly and offered her opinion on the choices we made. She also regularly checked up on us to see if everything was ok and topping up glasses etc. Good service is an art and this place does it well.

I must admit I preferred this place to Patrick Gibauld. The prices were reasonable and that means I will come back here again and again. Glad we finally made it here….it was well worth the wait :-))

Great food but can’t help feeling stung af the prices. Busy, popular and loud. Good for a bite and meeting friends if you are not budget conscious.

I’d say it’s 3.5 to 4 stars (if Yelp did such a thing) 🙂

Second or third time here a few weeks ago, after not being in here for perhaps close to a year. It was a busy buzzy Friday night and the place was accordingly hopping. We had a party of 6. Generally very positive reviews of the food across the board from all present. I could only detect minor gripes (not enough wasabi in the wasabi mayonnaise that accompanied the excellent tuna starter), or one of two people not major fans of the funky lamb starter (they make a breaded lamb thingy that evokes memories looks-wise of rectangular frozen fish). I loved it – but one other person wasn’t delighted and wouldn’t re-order.

Minor gripes aside – food was of a high standard. I had the gnocchi for my main – for some reason I often thing that dish is a good test of a place : do you get bullets of undigestible dough, or fantastic slightly fluffy balls (or in this case – tubes) of wonder. In this case, the latter. Everyone sang the praises on the mains, and indeed, the desserts.

Service was great – we had a French waiter with a wry sense of humor (good discussion about how crap my French accent was when I pronounced Tarte Tatin). All in all – a very good meal.

Pricy? Yes. Worth it? Just about – although various other places are now pushing Pichet in terms of quality for a slightly lower price (step forward Camden Kitchen).

I won’t leave it a year before returning next time 🙂

Very surprised to read Gilli S’s review, I was taken here for a work lunch at Christmas and very much enjoyed the experience (doubly so as it was on the ‘company dime’!).

The place food is good – not fine dining, not Michelin star quality, just good, rustic feeling and tasty.

The service was attentive and not over done though we did spot one waiter / manager being utterly horrid to one of the waitresses for no apparent reason.

Given that we were dining during the silly season when both food quality and service were not at all bad and I have promised wifey a revisit presuming it would be a bit better again during the year!

Quentin D.

Gilli S.

This restaurant has had excellent reviews for their food and I had been looking to sample some of their apparently excellent food…..BUT…

We tried to book here for lunch before Christmas but were sadly disappointed and my friend who was trying to make the booking said that the man was off hand and in fact quite rude. We were open to when we could eat there but he was not and made no suggest for other days of when they were not busy.

In the New Year it was my friends birthday and I decided to take her there as a birthday treat.

I called and booked the table and we looked forward to eventually getting to try their food.

2 hours before we were due to arrive at the restaurant I got a phone call saying they had a problem with an extractor (or something( in the kitchen and they had to cancel our reservation!

Before my starting a major panic I asked if they could recommend another restaurant and they suggested 3.

Quick ring around to see if I could get another reservation elsewhere and managed to get a table in Eden (very disappointing).

The food may be good but their attitude is bad and we will not be trying to go there again.

Ran in for lunch last Saturday and was impressed. This is one of those restaurants you go to and after your meal you realize there’s a next level of cooking/dining that generally you don’t get exposed to…or sadly, at least I don’t get exposed to.

Everything I had from the Gnocchi to the Roasted Cod w/ Crab Mayonnaise, Chorizo, Mussel Fricasse was expertly conceived and thoughtfully prepared. I’d love to have been able to come here a couple more times and explore more of the menu.

I’d recommend the 25 euro 3 course lunch or early bird dinner special – decent value if you’re into that sort of thing.

Put Pichet on your short list of places to eat while in Dublin.

Without a booking at the busiest time on a sat evening we decided to try our luck anyway – as expected was told they were fully booked but as we were walking out with disappointment the manager (I think) called us back and said they can squeeze us in… Happy days!!

Had been here before and I remember the food was lovely, so expectation was high as the menu has changed since, but we were not disappointed, the best starter on the night was: the seared tuna – looks great and taste delicious, while the best mains of the night was the stonebass.

Must be said though the butternut squash risotto starter my girlfriend had was a tad too rich in flavours, but that’s the only thing from an otherwise fantastic evening. I’d recommend all the same!

I cannot totally put my hand on what type of food they’re trying to go for (French name but some irish and italian dishes too) but it’s all good.
The vegetables you get with the meat or fish are always carefully and creatively cooked as an integral part of the meal.
I love the portions, not too large, not too little. There is generally still room for a dessert!
The staff there is perfectly adequate.
The atmosphere is strange, I always get looks when I go there, don’t know why. It seems to be filled with young adult sons and their elderly parents…
The furniture is very interesting…

Had the pleasure of dining here on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. Worth the wait, Food was excellent, service was spot on and the room was really buzzy. We were seated in front of the pass and it was good fun to see the kitchen staff in full flow. I also found pichet very good value for the experience it offers. It’s not fussy yet still has a certain cachet, possibly due to the demand for a table that has lead to waiting lists weeks long. I will be back asap.

Pichet would fit in well on Peter D’s ‘best bread baskets’ list. No, I’m not kidding. Check it out: http://bit.ly/kAbPIO

In fact, one server came by to see if we were done with our bread, to which I may or may not have shot lasers out of my eyes toward him; he half-jokingly (but seriously…) quipped, ‘It seems to cause people pain when we take them away.’ Yes. Yes, it does. Leave that crispy-on-the-outside-yet-fluffy-on-the-inside steamy fresh deliciousness with me. Or I might start brandishing my butter knife at someone.

Also, once inside the cosy, not-quite-cramped dining room, we were fortunate enough to obtain arguably the best seats in the house: immediately outside of the open kitchen. I could watch chefs work all day long – throwing various and sundry ingredients into pots and pans, ladling tantalising foodstuffs onto plates and bowls… my mouth is watering just recalling the sights and smells. I recall it being quite warm inside – even with the windows open to the fresh evening air – so dress appropriately (read: layers).

And of course, what good would it be to share about Pichet without mentioning the food? Not feeling exceptionally hungry, I had the pork belly with a side of mixed greens.

Have you ever had a salad where every single leaf of lettuce seemed to be hand-selected? One where every single bite was crisp zesty? When the dressing is so exceptionally tossed that there’s not a single flawless moment of rabbit-food ecstasy? Yeah. This is worth your €3.50.

The pork belly was almost so artistically presented I was nearly loath* to touch it. The scent of crispy, fatty, savoury, delectable oinker was enough to overcome my hesitation. Again, the dish exceeded my expectations, with crunchy skin that a simple table knife was able to penetrate, and utterly moist meat hiding beneath. Unless you’re feeling ravenous, a main and a side should fill you right up – I’m an eater, and I was thoroughly satisfied with my portions.

I do wish that both of their draught beers hadn’t run out earlier, but I suppose that speaks to the Irish condition. You’re not that far from The Long Hall, which is likely to have a better pint anyhow. And the only other moment of confusion was when we realised our bottle of wine was mistakenly left off the bill. Being the upstanding citizens we are, we made mention of it to the server for a prompt correction (although I wouldn’t have been sad if they’d omitted it).

Still, fair’s fair. While I can’t say that Pichet is an amazing deal, I wholly believe that you’ll get your full money’s value out of a meal here. What’re you waiting for – make a booking!

* I totally -just- learned the difference between ‘loath’ and ‘loathe’. Who knew they weren’t interchangeable?!

We had a wonderful dinner here on Mother’s Day. Loved the shellfish starter which had a delicious broth! For the main course had perfectly prepared fish. Nice environment, though the tables are close. Good staff. Chef has a niece touch.

The place was pretty full for a Monday night and we were greeted by very professional staff. There are some good choices on the Early Bird menu, 20 euro for two course, 25 for three. I skipped the starter and had pork belly for the main, oh my good God the crackling! It came with lentils and sliced apple, delicious. Portions aren’t huge but it is absolutely a case of the best of everything in small quantities. The vanilla cheesecake was yum too. Don’t go in there starving as you probably won’t be able to appreciate the food and the portions it won’t satisfy. But if you’re mildly hungry and want a beautifully prepared quality meal, Pichet is perfect!

BERNADETTE R.

Had dinner here with my husband last night. I had passed by loads of times and I always thought it looked very french and inviting. The decor is very nice with blue chairs which are very distinctive and comfortable. The atmosphere is quite buzzy. The food is sort of mid range, I had duck which was good, my husband didn’t like his suckling pig, dessert was just okay, a soft cheesecake. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was very good and very friendly. I would definitely go back.

Pichet remains one of the great foodie restaurants in Dublin. This French brassiere food is really top-notch. They’re currently offering a crispy Lamb starter that is melt in your mouth good—slow roasted and unbelievably tender. The creme brulee and tarte tatin are must try desserts—the later is served in its own mini sauce pan. Excellent high-end yet not too pretentious food;)

Only real negative (and why this is 4 stars and not 5)—the acoustics of the back dining room are horrible! It was extremely loud, so hard to hear my friends—and there were only 3 of us!

Dave S.

Brian O.

So far 4 big STARS…I will return

Dropped in for a cup of afternoon tea and a scone with a friend and both of us were complimenting the place during and after our tea.

Tea was quality and the fruit scone was fluffy and light just how I like them! Only thing was I needed a tad more of that jam yum yum!

The only thing wrong about Pichet is that everybody wants to eat here. Fantastic food and service all at fairly reasonable prices. The staff are also excellent and friendly. I’d recommend to try here mid week to be sure of getting a reservation at early notice.

Myself and the boyfriend went here last night and we loved it.

The restaurant was very busy, but we were still seated quickly, and the service never suffered because of the crowd.

It was a little loud, but I thought that just added to the atmosphere.

The food was amazing. For starters I had the veal bolognese – perfectly cooked pasta and plenty of veal – delicious. Bf had the crispy ned egg starter and raved about it.

The mains we had were the cod with seafood and lamb. Again, I couldn’t fault it (the lamb in particular was cooked to perfection).

Desserts were eton mess and creme brulee. The eton mess had some lemon curd with gave it a nice tang. Creme brulee was gorgeous.

They have an excellent wine list as well.

All in all a great dining experience – I will be going back and telling my friends about it

I have a huge soft spot for French food and had been looking forward to trying it out for months and wasn’t disappointed!

I was there with a large group booking (approx. 30) and there was a set three course menu. I was in the mood for fish so I had the crab meat and pickled cucumber starter which was light and tasty, if a little bit on the ‘just out of the fridge’ cold side. My main course was baked cod with a selection of shellfish and chorizo which was beautiful. Very tasty, well cooked and balanced well with fresh green beans and new baby potatoes. The highlight of the meal was the dessert, which is a lot coming from some who doesn’t have a sweet tooth. I chose the baked cheesecake with raspberries and it was absolutely divine – the best dessert I’ve had in a long time.

The service was excellent and the surroundings very comfortable. Our group was catered for in the smaller right wing of the restaurant which was no doubt to the delight of the rest of the regular diners in the main section to the left of the entrance. The chairs (which if the TV3 documentary about the place is anything to go by) were certainly worth the toil it took to get them into the restaurant – extremely comfortable.

Everyone leaving remarked how impressed they were with both the food and the service. A very good experience had, will definitely be back for more.

I had occasion to go for a fancy family lunch recently and it dawned on me that I have no idea whatsoever where you get fancy lunch from. So, I made a few calls, got a few suggestions and ended up in Pichet.

The inside is weird, the blue space chairs and grey colour scheme combined with the awnings and breezy café vibe create a Buck Rogers meets a French bistro feel.

I wasn’t absolutely mad about my starter, a cold-vinegary-crab-mush-ball thing with a crispy heel of toast, that probably had a nicer name on the menu, but left me wanting somewhat.

The main was delicious, an impeccably tender rib-eye of beef that has got my mouth watering just thinking about it, with chips. The chips, again, left something to be desired and the dish would’ve been nicer without them to be honest.

Yeah, a nice comfortable spot for lunch on a special occassion, Pichets might lack in the pedigree of Shanahans or Fitzers but it makes up for it by being quite a bit cooler. I would definitely book in advance but you may be okay to chance your arm mid-week.

This place is not opened very long but I was here at the end of the summer and loved it. We sat outside on the terrace part (which is heated and such a great place to hang out) and while the waiter was a bit pretentious and over the top for my liking, our food was fabulous. I just had a starter but it was bang on. My friends had main courses and were very impressed. It early in the evening but it was busy. I would definitely go back there for more. They have handy opening hours too – weekdays you could go in at 8am.

I treated Mam here awhile back to coffee and pastries. She got this pastry piece of heaven, it had lots of cream and chocolate! A very fancy eclair and she was in heaven with it. I got the hot chocolate and croissant, an odd combination but again it was so tasty. The hot chocolate was real chocolate and not that packet stuff. They have a large dining area, I have only ever gone there for a coffee and pastry.

I believe that they are currently refurbishing the place for a summer launch.
