My partner and I went to Pichet for dinner on a whim, and overall, this restaurant is very expensive and it didn’t really impressed me.
Apparently this is a hard table to get, but they are on OpenTable and I was able to call and get a table for later that night. Walking in, the vibe is pretty good, and it does have a feel of a Parisian bistro.
The wine list is rather small, and the cocktail menu is very uninspired. It’s just one sweet drink after another, and it was very odd that the first drink on their menu was a “porn star cocktail.” Why would something called that be your signature drink? Seems random and ill-fitting.
The food here is on the pricier side. Almost all their entrées are over €25. That’s kind of a pet peeve I have with restaurants where you have a super small menu that’s on a small piece paper yet everything is expensive. I’m here to try things out, and not invest in a restaurant concept that I’ve never been to before.
The food was fine, but nothing was very memorable here. The seabream was probably the best dish.
Service was spotty, and definitely did not fit the high prices here.
Overall, I have high expectations coming into here Pichet because I’d read such good things on the Internet about it, but it didn’t live up to them.
