Definitely a 4-5 star rating, probably depending on your night. The menu was simple, but we enjoyed everything. The salmon for starters was delicious, they even made the cucumbers nice, and I hate cucumbers. Then I had the venison for the main course, and it was done to a real medium rare, not the sort of medium rare that doesn’t have a hint of red in it. We clearly went on a better day than Emily though because the waiters were actually exceptional, especially given how packed the place was for a Monday night.
The only downside to the evening was that they actually didn’t have two of the 5-6 mains on their menu and had to offer something else. Guinea Fowl instead of chicken and some white fish instead of the Stonebass. This wasn’t really a problem, but given that we were there at 7, it seemed a little early to have run out of half the menu.
The cheesecake was actually exceptional, and I am quite fussy about cheesecakes, and the pear sorbet was probably one of the best sorbets I have ever had.
