Terminix hit our gas line underground in our kitchen, filling our home with explosive gas to the point of ignition (Nicor’s words, not mine – Lv 4 reading). Fun day. I had pointed out the gas line and the direction it went and he STILL hit it.
I get a call, and tech had no clue what to do. I called Nicor and 911 to get it emergency shut off at the meter. Took *3 days* for anyone in “management” to even call me about it. You’re given no number for a local branch or to reach anyone – just their corporate number. I sat with a thumb up my butt just waiting to see if I’d get ANY help in fixing the line, which needed to be jackhammered out and fixed, this whole time leaving us with no hot water until I could have Nicor restore a WEEK later.
When asked if I’d get any money back on my treatment for the huge trouble – again, hit an explosive gas line! – I was told “Well, the treatment was done as promised.”
HAH. Yeah, no. Never dealing with them again.
